Job description
Manage and contribute to the day to day financial transactions and accounting operations of the finance office for both Palm Paper Limited and Palm Recycling Limited accounts. Along with providing technical and functional support to the Head of Finance.

Palm Paper Limited (PM7) is the UK site for the Palm Group, manufacturing newsprint paper. PM7 is the world’s widest, largest and most powerful newsprint machine in the world with the capacity to produce 400,000 metric tonnes of newsprint per annum.
Palm Recycling Limited also based at PM7 is responsible for suppling Palm Paper Limited with the required waste paper. Carrying out collections and recycling services for the public sector and for commercial clients.
Production, sales, logistics and finance for the UK site for both Palm Paper Limited and Palm Recycling Limited is all ran out of PM7.
- Annual leave of 25 days per annum plus bank holidays, increasing by 1 day every third year to a maximum of 30 days per annum plus bank holidays

Job description and main responsibilities for both companies
- Process and review payments and receipts
- Process and review purchase / sales invoices
- Maintain debtors including credit limits, credit insurance and buyer reviews
- Weekly cashflow forecasts and maintaining banking records
- Process monthly accruals, prepayments and similar accounting entries
- Preparation and review of the VAT Returns / EC Sales Reports, for both UK and overseas
- Declarations for Office of National Statistics
- Assisting with the production of monthly management accounts plus supporting schedules to Palm Group timetables
- Assisting to produce year end statutory accounts
- Maintenance and valuation of stock
- Ensuring account records are kept up to date
- Process and review cost analysis reports
- Liaise with Auditors at year end
- Manage and supervise Finance Officer and liaise with Finance Analyst
- To comply with all UK & European H&S legislation
- To comply with all company policies and procedures
Essential knowledge, skills and experiences required
- Experience in producing statutory accounts
- Experience working in an annual financial audit
- Strong team work skills
- Managerial experience of a team of two or more
- Communicate at all levels of the organisation
- Prioritise and work to tight deadlines
- Manage workloads of their own and their team
- Advanced Microsoft skills including excel and word
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
- Highly organised, trustworthy and responsible
- Methodical worker
- Self-motivated, with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail
Desirable knowledge, skills and experiences required
- Fully / Part Qualified accountant with one of the main accountancy bodies in UK
- Experience using SAP
- Managerial experience in a manufacturing environment
