Job description
We are looking for an exceptional individual to join ExoMatter as Data Engineer. In this role, you will join our development and R&D team to implement and build algorithms for the analysis of unstructured data. Your work will also contribute to customer implementations of our software platform and the next generation of our machine learning algorithms.

We have a first product on the market with paying customers like Audi and Airbus and a strong upward trajectory.

Tasks
- You will implement algorithms for the analysis of unstructured data
- You perform automated extraction and preparation of large irregular datasets
- You work independently on most of your tasks and take on the role of an expert
- You will implement Machine Learning models for the prediction of new materials compositions
- Future topics may include unsupervised learning and Natural Language Processing
- Collaborate with researchers in academic projects
Requirements
- You hold a degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Physics, or a related field
- You are familiar with sklearn and Data Engineering foundations, and have proven those in larger collaborative projects (2-4 years of relevant full-time work experience)
- You have a basic understanding of natural sciences, detailed Materials Science expertise is not required
- You are willing to work independently without others in our team having detailed data science knowledge
- You are familiar with git, agile principles, have a basic understanding of CI/CD pipelines and deployments strategies
- You have experience in Python + at least one other programming language
- Experience in a startup is a plus
- You are fluent in English, German skills are a plus
- You live in Munich or want to move to Munich within 6 months
