The Powerplant Engineer II reports to the Powerplant Engineering Manager and is responsible for the creation, maintenance, distribution and storage of PPE technical documents necessary for gas turbine engine overhauls performed on customer aircraft fleets for the GTF engine programs. He/she will work with Fleet Technical Managers to provide technical documentation, which optimizes management of Fleet Management Program (FMP) maintenance, repair and overhaul (MRO) contracts thru minimization of expenditures and improving engine maintenance interval/reliability.

Essential Functions:

• Manage shop visits of engines under FMP, Fixed Price Agreement, and Maintenance Cost Guarantees to ensure cost targets are met while also maintaining flight safety
• Foster communication with Resident Center Managers and Local PPEs throughout the world; discuss status of all Work In Process (WIP) shop visits
• Manage routine Full Interval Visits (FIV); work with regional team on special visits for fleet-wide or individual engine events
• Participate in and support engine shop visit cost discussions; provide input to Fleet Managers and Engine Services Finance at Pratt & Whitney (P&W)
• Facilitate and manage workscopes being completed by outsourcing firms

Requirements for this position include:

• Bachelor’s Degree or Master’s Degree in relevant field
• 4-10 years of related engineering experience
• Sound understanding of concepts, methods and procedures within discipline
• Demonstrated ability to drive tasks to completion
• Eligible to work in the United States without Sponsorship
• Occasional travel may be required
