From 1921 to this day, Hanwag stands for traditional handcrafted workmanship combined with technical expertise, continuous innovation, durability and tradition.

For nearly 100 years, we have been making high-quality, functional mountaineering and trekking footwear at our headquarters in Vierkirchen near Munich.

Together with experienced professional athletes – alpinists, trekkers and mountain guides – our shoe designers and developers create innovative footwear for outdoor use that is perfected down to the smallest detail.

With a specific focus on the perfect fit, robustness and high-quality materials, all of the company’s footwear is made in Europe.

Hanwag is giving a unique opportunity by hiring a new Footwear Designer to develop the design direction of the future of Hanwag.

We are looking for an advanced footwear designer from concept to execution and presentation.

What you´ll do

• Develop concepts and creative strategies to drive Hanwag products forward
• Execute and design the next generation of outdoor footwear in balance with the brand values and history
• Coordinate and manage work with external designers
• Work closely with Product Development to ensure design execution
• Work with marketing team to ensure holistic storytelling
• Present and communicate creative solutions with clarity, effectively selling ideas to a variety of stakeholders
  

Who you are

• Strong knowledge of fashion design/industrial product or industrial design
• (Outdoor) Footwear design knowledge is required
• Good knowledge of product development and materials of footwear
• Passion for Outdoor is a plus
• High level of creativity
• Adobe products (PS and Ai) are a must
• Fluent in German and English (spoken and written)
