We are loo king for a Health, Safety and Environmental Specialist (HSE S pecialist ) located in Kaltenkirchen .
Reporting directly to the General Manager of the Kaltenkirchen factory you will be responsible for all aspects of a comprehensive health, safety and environmental( HS&E) programs. This is a hands-on position supporting 2 factory locations ( Kaltenkirchen and Hagenow) working directly with production, maintenance, and engineering functions and working closely with HSE UPM Raflatac matrix organi s ation .

What you’ll do
Lead HSE performance at both manufacturing sites. Develop, maintain , and improve HSE programs in full compliance with corporate and regulatory standards
Assure full compliance with local environmental regulations. Regulatory topics may include, but are not limited to, managing regulated waste disposal, air quality recordkeeping , wastewater sampling and reporting, maintenance of approved chemical lists, and conducting site inspections and sampling in accordance with permit terms
Prepare site and implement HSE processes / management systems in conformance with the ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 standards, sufficient to achieve third-party certification under UPM Raflatac’s multi-site certification, including site-level internal audit and management review processes
Promote and facilitate the use of UPM’s OneSafety system, including training site personnel on the various software modules (Incident Reporting, Risk Assessments, Management of Change, etc.)
Coordinate audits/reviews with outside vendors, regulators, and customers, including third-party ISO audits, UPM Safety, and UPM Clean Run internal audits and ensure corrective actions are implemented effectively in defined time frames
Plan HSE emergency preparedness and execute practice drills, such as building evacuation, fire extinguisher training, and spill response
Participate in the investigation of HSE incidents to analy s z e root causes and assist the team with corrective actions, communicate effectively with production, maintenance, and engineering to eliminate or mitigate safety hazards
Serve as a safety matter expert to all departments; assist and coordinate in execution of MOP and HSE projects. Lead facility personnel to achieve environmental goals set by the organi s ation that exceed regulatory requirements (i.e., waste reduction and recycling, energy and water conservation)
Support implementation of HSE UPM Programs and projects to improve HSE performance on sites
Who you are
You have any combination of education and experience equivalent to a bachelor's degree in occupational health & safety, environmental or a related field and 3-5 years of relevant experience in a manufacturing environment
Occupational Safety Specialist certification to perform role of OHS expert is an advantage
You can communicate effectively and work well with all levels within the matrix organi s ation
You are fluent in written and spoken German and have good English skills You have experience in implementing a comprehensive HSE programs, including creative workforce engagement and effective training programs. Previous project team experience is preferred.
Willingness to travel between factory sites Kaltenkirchen and Hagenow
