Job description
To keep up with the fast growth of Metyis and to continue to shape further the professionalization of the finance and accounting department, Metyis is looking for a Financial Controller in our Metyis Germany office.
The Financial Controller is responsible for finance and accounting of the German operating entity and will be direct report to the Global Finance Director with a dotted line to the German country lead.
We are looking for a motivated personality, a professional that applies his/hers knowledge in a pragmatical goal orientated and driven manner in line with the Metyis interests and it’s stakeholders.

What you will do
- Overseeing accounting in DATEV for German purposes and Exact Online for group purposes, but open to change accounting system if it benefits
- Overseeing the monthly closing for the German entity including balance sheet reconciliations
- Monthly reporting, based on our internal reporting templates
- Tax reporting and other compliance requirements
- Yearly filing of financial statements
- Managing the involvement of finance in several processes (PtP, OtC, Expenses, Payroll) and drive the compliance to our implemented processes and controls and focus on improving the integrity of financial data and processes and controls.
- Good understanding of projects, in terms of revenue recognition, profitability etc.
- Main contact for local management, accountant, auditor, etc.
- Overseeing payrolling, which is outsourced

- Cashflow forecasting
What you’ll bring
- Academic degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Economics or equivalent practical experience. Post-degree or certification in the field of finance & controlling is an advantage
- Minimum of 3 to 5 years working experience in a similar role or as an auditor, Big 4 experience is a pre
- Strong knowledge of procedures, policies, and best practices related to the finance department of a global organization
- Strong accounting knowledge and experience along with experience in preparation of statutory reports and tax returns.
- Fluency in English and German, both orally and in writing
- End-to-end management, ability to understand the big picture but also comfortable with details and managing the day-to-day operations
- Strong understanding of and ability to analyse financial reports with strong analytical skills and interpretation of numbers.
- Ability to think and act independently within the scope of the key responsibilities and interests of the stakeholders.
- Honest and trustworthy in handling confidential information
- Accurate and quality-minded person
- Excel – Intermediate to advanced level
- Exact (Online) and DATEV - Experience would be great but not essential
