Your tasks
In the context of this internship, you will be working in the department of protein chemistry. The department of “R&D Protein Chemistry” belongs to the “Antibody and Protein Technologies” unit of the Roche Reagent Research and Design Chapter and has its focus on the development of protein-based reagents for immunological diagnostic assays. To support this function automated processes are developed.
Your work will focus on the exploration and evaluation of following aspects:
Molecular biological and protein chemical methods to generate novel antibody-based formats
Protein purification and modification to produce diagnostic reagents
Analytical methods to validate quality and assess functionality
Who you are
You are a student of biotechnology, biochemistry, chemistry or related
You have knowledge and first experience in molecular biology (e.g. cloning) and protein biochemistry (e.g. preparative chromatography, PAGE)
You have knowledge and experience in instrumental analytics (e.g. UV-Vis, HPLC)
Basic knowledge of immunology is an advantage
You possess excellent spoken and written English skills
The ability to work in a team, learn fast and high motivation are essential for this position

Ihre Aufgaben
Im Rahmen dieses Praktikums werden Sie in der Abteilung für Proteinchemie arbeiten. Die Abteilung "R&D Protein Chemistry" gehört zum Bereich "Antibody and Protein Technologies" des Roche Reagent Research and Design Chapters und hat ihren Schwerpunkt in der Entwicklung von proteinbasierten Reagenzien für immunologische diagnostische Assays. Zur Unterstützung dieser Funktion werden automatisierte Prozesse entwickelt.
Ihre Arbeit wird sich auf die Erforschung und Bewertung der folgenden Aspekte konzentrieren:
Molekularbiologische und proteinchemische Methoden zur Herstellung neuartiger antikörperbasierter Formate
Reinigung und Modifizierung von Proteinen zur Herstellung diagnostischer Reagenzien
Analytische Methoden zur Validierung der Qualität und Bewertung der Funktionalität
Wer Sie sind
Sie sind Student/in der Biotechnologie, Biochemie, Chemie oder einer verwandten Fachrichtung
Sie haben Kenntnisse und erste Erfahrungen in der Molekularbiologie (z.B. Klonierung) und Proteinbiochemie (z.B. präparative Chromatographie, PAGE)
Sie verfügen über Kenntnisse und Erfahrungen in der instrumentellen Analytik (z. B. UV-Vis, HPLC)
Grundkenntnisse in der Immunologie sind von Vorteil
Sie verfügen über ausgezeichnete Englischkenntnisse in Wort und Schrift
Teamfähigkeit, schnelle Auffassungsgabe und hohe Motivation sind für diese Stelle unerlässlich
