As a sustainability and innovation intern, you will work on cutting-edge projects that align with our commitment to environmental responsibility, social impact, and forward-thinking solutions. About us: You will be part of the Sustainability & Risk team in Roche Diagnostic Global Direct Procurement (DOP).
We, DOP, are a global organization within Roche Global Operations.
Our teams are based in all manufacturing sites across five countries: Germany, Switzerland, the US, China and South Africa.
DOP is responsible for strategic supplier management and strategic procurement activities for finished goods, intermediates and raw materials directly related to production, as well as logistics services and product software.
The Sustainability & Risk team which you will be part of combines experts from the EU and Switzerland with diverse backgrounds.  Our work is dedicated to projects within DOP and across functions.
We strive to ensure holistic compliant, sustainable, risk-controlled supplier management across all spend categories.  About the project: IntegrityGuard has its focus on digital enhancement of due diligence before supplier onboarding.
Streamlined data gathering in adverse media analysis is key to enable risk identification, mitigation and informed sourcing decisions.
From harvesting, meaningful schema design and AI/LLM augmented analysis with an easy-to- grab output of risk based options for decision makers - this exciting role has many opportunities to positively impact the end-user`s success.
You will work closely with the cross-functional internal customers of the desired solution in an agile manner.   Key Responsibilities: * Identify and translate information needs of key stakeholders / users into data and information requirements * Based on these needs and requirements, identify relevant adverse media mentions data sources  * For the identified data sources, design and implement a pipeline to automatically access, ingest,, quality check, stage and analyze these data (might be structured or unstructured) * Propose a framework and pipeline to continuously retrain the algorithm based on user input that serves as new ground truth * Build machine learning algorithms * Develop conclusive insights as basis for informed decisions This internship offers the flexibility of on-site or hybrid work arrangements. Who You Are You enrolled your Master’s  in a relevant field of research e.g.
Data Science, Business Informatics, Computer Science studies at a university and you are specialized in a relevant field (Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, genAI, LLMs, NLP, etc.) within the last 12 months. You are curious and motivated to apply your knowledge and skills in an ambitious project  in the pharmaceutical / diagnostics industry.
We expect fluency in English. Furthermore you bring * Very good  programming skills in languages such as Python, R, Java, SQL * Experience with data visualization (e.g.
Alteryx, Tableau); Experience with application of AI/LLM methods and technologies is  preferred * Solution-orientation, nimble, lean and continuous improvement mindset * Very strong data acumen, analytical and critical thinking * Ability to interact with business stakeholders and translate business needs into data analytical tasks * Ability to work independently and with team members from diverse backgrounds.
