II-VI GmbH is developing a European Module Design Center in Eching / Munich area that will be a center of excellence for power modules design. Mass production will be subcontracted off-shore; a production line will be developed on site to support the R&D activities as well as the manufacturing of some complex and specific designs. II-VI GmbH is forecasting about 30 employees in the Module Design Center.
Job Description
- Responsible for developing power module packages
- Collaborate and work closely with R&D team and suppliers, with the objective to design our module packages, validate their feasibility and allow their mass production
- Participate to the discussion with customers for designing custom packages that meet the customers’ expectations
- Participate in specifications and responsible for the design of power module packages to reach performance, reliability and cost targets
- Support of production tool design
- Participate in evaluation and qualification process of the module packages
- Creating design rules for design and high yield manufacturing
- Participate in research and develop new power module packaging including material technology, manufacturing techniques for advanced electronics systems
Qualification
- MS in mechanical engineering
- 5-10 years’ experience in power electronics module development
- Broad technical knowledge of module package mechanical development and ability to formulate new solutions
- Experience in industrial, automotive, and renewable power electronics industry
- Experience with plastic materials and molding technologies
- Experience in module package development based on 3D FEM thermo mechanical simulations
- Experience in module package evaluation and qualification
- Advantage: experience in Ansys, Solid Edge, Solid Works
- Demonstrated ability to work within multidisciplinary development teams
