Job description
Your Mission:
As a core team member of the Galileo Service Operator (GSOp), DLR GfR mbH operates and manages the constellation of Galileo satellites from the Galileo Control Center in Oberpfaffenhofen (GCC-D), Germany.
We are looking for a talented System Engineer who can support us to refine our Systems Engineering approach and expand the business. In this position you will need a strong background and proven experience in Galileo (preferably with knowledge in System Engineering) as well as being well-versed in each stage of the systems life cycle. Moreover, if you are passionate to find and develop techniques to manage a system efficiently and ensure new infrastructure elements can be integrated in a seamless manner, you are the ideal candidate to complement our team. A background in Software Architecture is also an advantage to help us integrate IT based solutions in to our overall service offerings.

You will assume the following duties:
- Supporting design activities for new or enhanced services and systems
- Analytical analysis to understand system impact of future activities
- Coordinate multi-disciplinary teams for system analysis
- Evaluate systems and make recommendations for improvements
- Propose solutions to enhance system capability
- Requirement Management
- Developing the company’s System Engineering capability
Your Qualification:
- Completed scientific university studies in natural sciences or engineering (preferably aerospace engineering or comparable studies) at Master's level or with a comparable degree
- Experience in Galileo
- Previous experience in System Engineering is preferrable
- Excellent coordination skills
- Strong analytical skills
- Preferable to have knowledge of navigation systems (preferably Galileo)
- Service oriented and problem solution working style
- An advanced level of English is mandatory
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
