Teslais looking for a skilled and motivated individual to design and developelectronics for use in our HV electronics systems. This individual willcollaborate with a cross-functional team of engineers to deliver best in classelectrical architectures and products.
What You’ll Do· Designand development of digital and analog electronics for control of battery electronicsystems.
· Collaborativework with mechanical, firmware, software, thermal design, manufacturing test,and system test engineers.
· Startto finish ownership of control boards and other electronics – fromspecification to design, prototype, and manufacturing.
· Collaborateon controller architectural decisions to drive robust system design.
· Productlevel electrical design including component selection, branch circuit design,and insulation coordination.
· Supportdesign reviews and DFMEAs.
What You’ll Bring· BSor higher degree in Electrical Engineering.
· 4+years relevant work experience.
· Experiencein selection and use of DSPs, microcontrollers, and programmable logic devices(FPGA/CPLD) and their peripheral circuitry.
· Experiencedesigning digital communication busses (CAN, Automotive/Industrial Ethernet,RS-485, USB, SPI, I2C, etc.).
· Experiencedesigning board level power supplies (buck, boost, flyback, etc.).
· Experiencewith Altium or other schematic entry and PCB layout software.
· Experiencein supervision of PCB layout, stack-up definition, and EMC optimization.
· Hands-onexperience designing, building, and testing PCBs.
· Proficiencywith basic EE tools (scopes, network analyzers, etc.)
· Abilityto tackle problems and reason using a first principles approach.
PreferredSkills:
· Experienceusing LTspice, Python, and Matlab
· Embeddedprogramming of DSPs, microcontrollers, and programmable logic devices(FPGA/CPLD)
· Familiarwith Hardware-in-the Loop (HIL) validation platform
· Experienceworking on high voltage, high power systems
· Generalfamiliarity with basic control theory and digital implementation ofcontrols
· Experiencein obtaining product safety certification through an NRTL (e.g. UL, CE, CSA,CCC, etc.)
· Knowledgeof power semiconductors and switched mode power conversion
· Basicunderstanding of mechanical design fundamentals
