The sustainability team at adidas creates sustainability intelligence and enablers to create transparency and inform decisions. This team tracks the environmental impact, gives guidance on the sustainable business plan implementation, and provides the long-term sustainability roadmap for the company.
The team is made up of talented and passionate sustainability experts with a variety of backgrounds and experiences. We are at the forefront of influencing and shaping the sustainability journey of adidas and of the sporting goods industry overall. Working across all functions and creating next generation impactful and innovative sustainability strategy.
Decarbonization is driving the next major transformation that will fundamentally change markets and companies. adidas will continue being in the front of this change. For further strengthening of this field, we are looking for a Climate and Decarbonization Manager to support the Sustainability Global Operations department:
Key Accountabilities
- Drive the early evaluation and prioritization of decarb levers in the area of material and technology innovations.
- Support the development, creation, and analysis of performance indicators as well as to derive measures and monitor adidas environmental impact.
- Provide the teams across adidas sustainability and environmental analysis, with focus on products, materials, and manufacturing technologies.
- Support the development, implementation and maintenance of processes and tools for a successful environmental management.
- Help in the implementation of projects in the areas of corporate carbon footprinting, climate target development and modelling,
- Support the creation of the global Climate strategy and collaborate with other functions to achieve results and targets.
- Communication and collaboration with internal and external partners. With specific focus on suppliers and innovators, guiding them, to provide credible environmental footprint data.
- Support external claims and communication.
- Work closely with colleagues across the organization to empower matrixed teams that deliver on our vision of climate action for all.
- Develop guidance on critical topics in the area of LCA by applying the latest research and know-how, collaborating with internal and external partners.
Knowledge, Capabilities and Experience
- Strong knowledge in sustainability data analytics and stakeholder expectations.
- Effective communication skills
- Very good communication skills in English, both written and spoken
- Analytical, structured way of working as well as a high degree of initiative and service mentality.
- Strategic thinking and good process understanding.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team, solution-oriented approach, effective time management.
- Strong analytical and conceptional, communication, methodical and presentation skills.
Qualifications
- University degree, preferably master’s degree in environmental science, material science or related sustainability fields.
- Minimum 3 years’ work experience in sustainability and impact management
- Detailed know-how in sustainability, ESG topics within the supply chain and performance evaluation for minimum 3 years.
