Purchasing Manager

Your responsibilities:
- Plan, organize, and control activities related to the procurement function from intent to purchase through receipt of useable goods.
- Organize, supervise, and direct the work of purchasing agents or buyers whose activities include supplier selection, price negotiations and establishing supplier contracts; coaches and mentors employees to retain talent.
- Analyze market and delivery conditions to determine present and future availability of needed materials; establish strategies and tactics to assure continuous reliable supply of goods and services.
- Review market indices, tariffs, and trade publications to insure best price and value for goods.
- Responsible to ensure supplier contracts are correct on commercial terms, price and item specifics, in alignment with corporate signature authority guidelines; seek guidance and collaborate with legal department on contract conditions.
- Work with purchasing agents and buyers on procurement strategies, ensuring on time delivery, best cost/value and quality while improving corporate working capital. This requires optimizing inventory turns, rebates and payment discounts.
- Recruit and develop suppliers; cultivate relationships with suppliers as business partners; assess suppliers’ production and distribution capabilities.
- Establish Key Performance Indicators to evaluate suppliers on multiple criteria (for example, price, quality, service support, availability, reliability and selection).
- Collaborate with KHS mechanical, electrical, manufacturing and quality engineers, sales and production on required materials; advise on materials availability, cost savings opportunities and design for manufacturability; minimize or eliminate single sourcing
- Collaborate with other KHS facilities worldwide to develop procurement strategies and drive cost savings.
- Establish and maintain purchasing system procedures in accordance with quality system (ISO) standards.
Your profile:
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or a related field plus five years of senior level purchasing experience in an industrial manufacturing environment. A Masters degree is preferred.
- Certification of Institute of Supply Management or APICS certification is desired.
- Proven experience as a Purchasing Manager, Procurement Manager, or in a similar role, demonstrating a strong understanding of procurement best practices and strategies.
- Excellent leadership skills
- SAP, proficiency in using procurement software and systems, as well as advanced knowledge of MS Excel
- In-depth knowledge of contract negotiation, vendor management, and purchasing processes.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret data, analyze market trends, and make data-driven decisions.
- Excellent negotiation and communication skills, with the ability to build and maintain effective relationships with suppliers and internal stakeholders.
