Data Scientist in Telematics (f/m/d)
Full-time, starting immediately in Coburg, permanent
The future of motor insurance is real-time data collection with telematics. We believe that telematics offers great potential for more accurate and, above all, fairer risk assessment. However, exploiting this potential is not trivial and requires a spirit of research and, above all, a high level of expertise in big data & data science.
We live and breathe big data: as Germany's largest motor insurer, we receive high-frequency driving data from our telematics customers every day, covering a distance equivalent to 300 times the circumference of the earth. In order to exploit the full potential of this complex and multi-layered data, we use the complete toolbox of a data scientist, from mathematical-statistical methods to state-of-the-art AI.
What you can look forward to
- Research and development for risk assessment with telematics driving data using data science methods
- Design and development of complex software solutions based on machine learning algorithms
- Technical support for the productive implementation of machine learning models
- Ad-hoc analyses from ongoing operations
- Teamwork in a motivated and agile team as well as overarching cooperation with related departments
What you bring with you
- Very good degree in computer science, physics, mathematics or a comparable subject, preferably with a doctorate
- Independent and scientific way of working with creativity and commitment
- Experience in dealing with modern machine learning methods and relevant libraries in Python (Scikit-learn, PyTorch ...)
- Experience in the design and development of big data applications
- Understanding of the principles of software frameworks for distributed scalable systems and cloud computing is an advantage
- Strong communication skills, mathematical and technical understanding and a goal-oriented and results-oriented way of working
- Enjoy working with physical and technical data
