Job description
for full-time project work starting July 1, 2024 at the Infectious Disease and Tropical Medicine Department.
Our department at Heidelberg University Hospital has a clinical and research mandate. We are embedded in a research-active university campus (incl. the Heidelberg Institute for Global Health). On the research side, we are a diverse team of people from around the globe, all passionate about global health, trying to make a difference for people living in limited resource settings.
Your Tasks
- This position will be the Clinical Study Coordinator for multiple tuberculosis (TB)-related and other infectious disease-related clinical, epidemiological, and translational science studies
- The person in this position will develop trial protocols, coordinate and be accountable for the overall operational management, oversight, and implementation of several concurrent studies, requiring knowledge and skills in clinical study conduct
- Studies are domestically and internationally based and will require to work collaboratively with international colleagues and multiple partners to plan, coordinate, and implement multiple trials
- The position will work across time zones and entails international travel (up to 20%) for initial study implementation and site monitoring visits. Partially remote work will be possible
Your Profile
- Master’s degree in related area
- Advanced knowledge of clinical studies with at least 2 years of experience in a scientific project management role and ability to understand and apply policies and regulations for clinical studies, contracts and grants, monitor and apply risk management to oversee the operational management and coordination also with international partners
- Ability to work well independently, complete projects in a timely manner, prioritize projects, analyse routine and non-routine issues
- Strong experience using database software and management/ organizational platforms, strong interpersonal skills, excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Preferred: experience working in international research setting, knowledge of global TB work
