DUTIES
- Liaise with Back Office in Brazil, Corporate Bankers, Facility Agents and Corporate Clients in Europe for the processing of loan transactions.
- Forward quoted transaction details to all departments involved in the disbursement process of a loan. Interacts with Corporate Bankers, Credit, AML/KYC, Treasury and Back Office departments.
- Performs the analysis of the “Know Your Transaction” documentation. Identifies and reports situations where there is a need for investigations or suspicion of situations related to AML and CTF.
- Ensures the admissibility of any disbursement verifying that documents and signatories are in good order before disbursement. If case of need, contact
BackOffice in Brazil or the Client (or Facility Agent for RCF) in Europe in order to obtain all relevant documents before disbursement. - Ensures the reception of the guarantees linked with the referred transaction.
- Verifies the Legal Lending Limit of the concerned counterparties. In case of any potential breach, informs all involved parties in order to take required measures.
- Ensures that all relevant authorizations have been received for disbursement.
- Inputs the transaction and the referred guarantee (if any) in the accounting system.
- Verifies the Swift confirming the details of the transaction and processes any modification in case of need
- Prepares within the required deadlines the payments of the transactions (for loans) or the issuance of the Standby Letter of Credits (for guarantees). In case of any issue with a payment, tries to understand the problem. In front of an operational issue, takes the necessary actions to solve it, otherwise escalates the issue and does the follow-up of the case until the situation is solved.
- Reports on a weekly basis the maturing transactions, the maturing Standby Letter of Credits as well as all unpaid amounts.
- Ensures that all amounts due under the transactions are paid properly and in good time. Inputs the referred amounts in the accounting system. In case of any delay prepares the late payment fees calculation, and after approval, escalates such information to the concerned persons. Follow-up of the unpaid amounts until they are fully paid or properly waived.
- Ensures the maintenance of the loan in case of any event happens during the life cycle of the transaction (pre-payment, floating rate change, payment schedule amendment…).
- Is in charge of adjusting in the accounting system eventual differences between a loan and referred Standby Letter of Credit (SBLC). Prepares the Notification of any decrease or release SBLC informing the referred Issuer.
- Once identified, processes the SBLC’s executions.
- In case of need, may assist the Officer or the Manager of the department to approve the transactions in the accounting system (only possible when a
transaction has been inputted by another Employee). - Properly archives operational files and documents.
- Occasionally prepares the files for the Auditors.
- Proposes process improvements in cases of operational weaknesses.
- Other related administrative tasks as requested by immediate superior.
SKILLS/QUALIFICATIONS
- Has a three-year university degree (“BAC+3”) related to Economics, Finance or International Trade and/or prior experience in a similar position.
- Good command of banking operations, especially credit operations.
- Rigour, Organisation, time and priority management.
- Sense of discretion and confidentiality.
- Good knowledge of computer-based tools (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and Outlook.
- Fluent in English, Portuguese and French
