Job description
The Fraunhofer Institute for Laser Technology is Europe's leading center for contract research and development in laser technology. The Micro- and Nanostructuring working group focuses on process engineering issues relating to ultrashort pulse processing. One focus is on the upscaling of established laser processes. Using multi-beam optics, in which the laser beam is divided into hundreds of partial beams by means of diffraction, we design highly parallelized processes. Applications of this technology come from the automotive, filter technology, electronics and medical sectors.
You will work with us to develop laser-based manufacturing processes for drilling, ablation and structuring with multi-beam optics. You will also work on the design and further development of optics and laser systems.
