Job description

A new transport system for samples is being developed for our preclinical imaging procedures. In the course of this project different methods and procedures to determine the position of a sample need to be evaluated. At the beginning of your thesis is a detailed literature research. Followed by a selection that considers the requirements and structural circumstances. At the end experiments or simulations showing the effectiveness of the selected procedures are prepared and used. The aim of this thesis is to achieve a high precision while assuring compatibility with a variety of imaging methods.

Begin of the Thesis in March/April 2024 for a duration of 5-6 months at our location in Ettlingen.

• Selection of methodologies and procedures to determine the position of a sample in our preclinical imaging devices
• Comparison and testing of the methodologies and procedures
• Define requirements for the whole system depending on the chosen procedure
• Scientific elaboration of the results

• Technical or scientific studies (e.g., physics, mechanical engineering, electrical engineering)
• Basics of CAD Design (preferable SolidEdge)
• Interest in new, innovative technical solutions and their practical implementation
• Very good analytical thinking and strong team and communication skills
• Very good written and spoken English, German is a plus.
