In our Quality Assurance Team are two open positions as QA Device Safety Manager (m/f/d) to fill. We are looking for colleagues who will be responsible for group-wide planning of RRP (Reduced Risk Products) devices safety and liability standards & programs, and framing & driving execution plans to preserve the business from legal and reputational risk. Your scope will be the quality & safety of RRP devices related to electrical and physical aspects of safety and liability. This is a great opportunity to take one of the key roles in our team, and have strong cross-functional cooperation and engagement across JTI.
Your Responsibilities:
- Regulatory/Technology Progress Monitoring – responsible for the technical and scientific interpretation of worldwide (electrical) product safety regulations and industry standards relevant to RRP devices and associated products; monitor competitor activities and technology evolutions in the industry
- Regulatory Compliance - plan and provide technical guidance to define the regulatory/industrial standard compliance requirements for JTI RRP devices as specific company standards and programs on which value-chain functions can carry out their development activities in a structured way
- Product Validation/Verification - collaborate with the teams in QA and other relevant functions to perform validation of respective development prototypes and verification of those specifications based on the standards and programs; collect feedback and revise if necessary
- Safety and Liability - oversee, manage and ensure the assessment required to demonstrate the compliance of RRP devices and associated products with safety and regulatory requirements, including knowledge support to the in-house labs and organization of external testing
- Strategic Communication Hub – provide strategic and technical opinions/advice about business decisions and set directions and communicate them to relevant value-chain functions
- Provide device safety expertise – provide learning opportunities for engineering tools to other functions aiming to enhance relevant technical knowledge and skills
Your Profile:
- University degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics or related field of studies
- 5+ years of experience in the field of product safety, plus at least 2-3 years of experience designing electronics products (PCBA)
- Strong technical expertise in PCBA design, manufacturing, reliability, and battery management systems
- Excellent knowledge and understanding of technical standards such as EN/IEC 62133-2 and UL 1642
- Strong analytical skills as well as the ability to make well-informed decisions independently
- Experience with project management
- Very good conceptional, organizational and coordination skills
- Confident in dealing with internal and external partners
- Ability to work effectively in a diversified team and in an international environment
- Willingness to travel
- Fluent English, both written and spoken, additional foreign language knowledge is welcomed
