Job description
An ambitious and innovative player in the green energy industry is looking for an enthusiastic and dedicated Category Manager to join their team in the Dresden headquarters. The company has earned its reputation as a trailblazer in the realm of solar panels and films, and are currently rolling out a new product that hasn't been on the market previously, making this a very exciting time to join! Frequently collaborating with giants like Samsung and E.ON, this company is quickly paving its way towards dominating the green energy market in Europe.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Developing and implementing the commodity group strategy for assigned categories, overseeing the entire purchasing process independently.
- Negotiating multi-year and framework agreements, along with other purchasing conditions, while maintaining and enhancing strategic supplier relationships to foster sustainable and cooperative partnerships.
- Leading supplier development initiatives, focusing on cost reduction projects, optimising supplier numbers, ensuring availability, and proactively identifying and evaluating supply risks to implement appropriate measures.
- Assisting the quality department in supplier development activities, addressing quality issues, and participating in audits.
- Analysing procurement markets, identifying potential procurement sources, and expanding the supplier portfolio as needed.
Your profile:
- Completion of studies in fields like industrial engineering, economics, or related disciplines, coupled with several years of professional experience in strategic purchasing within an industrial setting, preferably in sectors such as solar or automotive industries, on the international stage.
- Industry knowledge, particularly in areas like chemicals, industrial adhesives, or electrical components.
- Proficiency in recognising economic contexts and fluent communication skills in both German and English, facilitating confident interactions with suppliers, including during business trips if required.
