Investigation of mechano-electrochemical behaviour of Si/Carbon composite electrodes

Your tasks
- Development and characterization of Si/C anodes and investigation of mechano-electrochemical responses and degradation phenomena
- Preparation and optimization of slurry formulations and electrodes in lab environment
- Fabrication and evaluation of test cells by applying advanced electrochemical techniques; post-mortem analysis and advanced physicochemical characterization
- Development of advanced electrochemical test configurations for probing mechano-electrochemical responses, in particular under fast-charge conditions
- Establishing fundamental understanding of degradation mechanism of Si/C anodes, e.g. by cause-effect-correlations
- Close collaboration with our (pre-)development teams for next steps in cell development in the field of LIB batteries
Collaboration requires a commitment to scientific supervision by a
university or research institution authorized to award doctorates. The thesis is defined jointly with the supervising professorship.
Your skills
- Master’s degree in material science, industrial engineering, chemistry, physics, or comparable education profiles
- High affinity to experimental tasks and willingness to do a deep dive in battery cell chemistry
- Good communication skills, team–minded, ability to work independently
