About you and this role
We are looking for you, an ambitious master’s student, to support our Environmental Operations team by doing an internship project in the waste incineration plant with the focus on the optimization of the heavy metal removal process in the wastewater of the flue gas treatment of a rotary kiln for our location in Stade, Germany.

Project description
An integral part of the operation of a rotary kiln is the flue gas and consequently the wastewater treatment to protect people and environment by minimizing emissions. The wastewater is treated with iron and flocculants to settle and thus separate heavy metals in the following clarifiers. In this project the heavy metal precipitation and the legal framework conditions are to be described as starting point to find and evaluate options to upgrade the process with the outlook to implement improvements and rate its success.
Depending on the project's scope, this internship presents a potential opportunity for a thesis.
