The role:
The Brand Manager John Frieda supports the Senior Brand Manager in the execution of the Brand Activation strategy. The Brand Manager John Frieda customizes and executes the global brand strategy to meet local consumer needs in the German market. The role is crucial in understanding German market dynamics and cultural nuances, aiming to enhance brand awareness and loyalty through targeted local campaigns, product launches, promotions and strategic partnerships. This position will help ensure the brand's relevance, competitiveness, and ongoing success in the dynamic German haircare market.
This is a permanent, full-time role based in Darmstadt (hybrid working model).
What you will do:
- Product Localization: Customize global products and product concepts to align with German market demands. Prepare and execute local go-to-market strategy.
- Team Collaboration & Stakeholder Relationship Management: Inspire and closely work together with internal, cross-functional teams for effective brand execution (e.g.: sales, trade marketing, market research, demand planning). Manage external agencies. Cultivate and maintain partnerships.
- Presentation Skills: Develop and deliver impactful product presentations to various internal and external interest groups and committees.
- Performance Evaluation: Analyze and interpret data to measure brand performance, product launches and campaign successes and adapt strategies accordingly.
- Budget Management: Effectively allocate resources for optimal ROI.
- Competitive Market Analysis: Regularly assess German beauty trends, consumer behavior and competitive activities. Derive opportunities for own brand.
- Support Senior Brand Manager in providing valuable, country relevant insights to Global to influence global masterplans
What you will need:
- Must have a Bachelor's and Master's Degree in Business Administration, Business Economy or comparable commercial education with focus on Marketing and Brand Management: A solid foundation in marketing principles and business strategy is essential.
- At least 3-5 years of professional experience in marketing or brand management roles after graduation
- Previous experience gained in thriving (inter)national companies in the FMCG brand sector
- Expertise in beauty and personal care industry - ideally hair care category experience
- Excellent understanding of ATL as well as BTL marketing
- Strong passion and affinity for beauty: Genuine enthusiasm for beauty and hair care products.
- Language Proficiency: Fluent in German and strong Business English skills are a must.
- Versatile Problem Solver: Highly adaptable and skilled in problem-solving.
- Creative Analytical Aptitude: Merge creative thinking with strong analytical skills for informed decision making.
- Driven Enthusiast: Exhibit a strong drive and enthusiasm for continual growth.
- Product Launches: Involvement in successful product launches within the beauty or haircare sector, showcasing the ability to understand market needs and introduce products effectively.
- Localization Experience: Experience in adapting global brands or products to local markets, understanding cultural nuances, and tailoring marketing strategies accordingly.
- Market Analysis and Consumer Insights: Experience in conducting market analysis, competitor research, and gathering consumer insights to inform strategic decision-making. Always abreast of industry trends in the dynamic beauty landscape.
- Cross-functional Collaboration: Proven ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams, including global brand management/global product development, sales, trade/shopper marketing.
- Budget Management: Experience in managing marketing budgets effectively to maximize ROI.
- Data-Driven Decision Making: Proficient in utilizing data analytics to inform strategic choices and marketing initiatives (e.g. Circana (formerly IRI)/ Nielsen, GfK).
- Innovative Problem-Solving: Adept at creatively addressing challenges and proactively finding solutions.
