As part of the Fluor Corporation Fluor GmbH has offices in Berlin, Mannheim, and Ratingen. As a full EPC company, we offer our customers various solutions in the Life Science and Advanced Technologies industries. Due to the growing business development, we are looking for a Senior Contract Manager (m/f/d) for our team in Germany.

• Oversee and manage Contracting process on the project from Pre-Award, Post-Award through Close-Out in accordance with the Project Execution Plan (PEP) and Project Procedures Manual (PPM), including claims and back charges including:
- Develop and approve contracting strategies,
- Sourcing, negotiation, award, execution of contracts
- Contract administration and close various types of contracts,
- Reviewing and approving contract awards within their delegated authority, including prime contracts administration that support services performed on a global project basis.

• Support preparation of bid evaluation plans for large engineering, procurement, fabrication, and construction (EPFC), Request for Proposal (RFP) packages and participate in both technical and commercial bid evaluation; assist Project and Engineering Managers with preparing scope, schedule, and other technical documents for the RFP process.

• Bear ultimate responsibility for the quality of the Project RFP packages and contract documents.

• Manage interfaces with Project Management, Construction, Project Controls, Quality, Safety, Finance, Client, Joint Venture Partners, suppliers, and subcontractors.

• Protect the Company’s interests by enforcing warranties, mitigating risk, and providing oversight to project contract management team.

• Lead the contract management activities associated with large engineering, procurement, fabrication, and construction / construction management (EPFC/EPFCM) projects with multi-office execution.

• Manage contract processes and ensure timely payment of contractors.

• Be involved in Strategic Functional Initiatives, Provide consultative functional technical and analytical support.
• Actively participate as a Subject Matter Expert.

• Manage and actively contribute to improvement of functional work processes and reference system.

• Manage contract processes to avoid claims and participate in the equitable settlement of claims; manage the bid analysis process and ensure project team is brief on findings.

Your prime working location will be Berlin or Mannheim. Remote work pending on project requirements possible.

Basic Job Requirements

• You hold a bachelor’s or master’s degree in engineering management or another relevant field.

• 15 years of work-related experience in a similar role in the life science or semiconductor industry on large capital projects.

• Proven experience with German contract law, VOL, HOAI and with the implementation of Anglo-Saxon contract approaches in Germany.

• Technical knowledge and experience in the life science or advanced technology industry.

• Excellent communication skills in English and German both written and verbal.

• Leadership skills and ability to delegate work.
• Flexible and willing to travel.

• Managed Cleanroom Design and Build contracts.

• Managed Hygienic & Utility Piping supply, fabricate and Install contracts.

• Managed Electrical & Instrumentation supply and place contracts.

• Familiar with GMP requirements incorporated into subcontractor scope, including TOP requirements.

• Familiar with IPD contracting.

• Ability to deal with detail and work in a time-conscious and time-effective manner.
