About the role

We are looking for a Software Engineer (m/f/d) , to develop industry specific tools that demonstrate the power of Questa Equivalent Design (QED). QED is a leading provider of certified IC integrity verification solutions for functionally correct integrated circuits. QED partners with developers worldwide to assure the integrity of SoCs, ASICs, and FPGAs for automotive and industrial applications; defense; avionics; artificial intelligence and machine learning; consumer electronics; and communications.

As a Software Engineer at Siemens Digital Industries Software, you will lead and contribute to the creation and maintenance of industry specific workflow tools. You will be a member of an agile product development team working collaboratively with others in the broader engineering organization, including other software and product engineers, application specialists and quality assurance engineers. You will be responsible for driving the architecture and help make technological choices that are easily scalable to build a range of applications.

Ideally you will be located around Munich otherwise we can support remote working in Germany.

Area of responsibility

• Development and improvement of software components for formal equivalence checking that meet all requirements of quality, scalability, modifiability, extensibility, testability etc.
• Communication between engineers in the software development team, application engineers and product owners to design, engineer, and advance significant areas of the software.
• Responsible to understand the customer requirements, run experiments and do scientific analysis.
• Specialists and Support Engineers to understand requirements, propose technical solutions and implement those solutions with high quality and scalable software
• Prepare Go-To-Market presentation for the features developed for the upcoming release
• Demonstrate ownership culture by taking ownership of the project and moving it forward
• Communicate product developments to internal customers (product management, internal user community) with some limited exposure/interaction with external customers.

Your qualifications

• A Master's or PhD degree in a relevant engineering discipline (computer science is desirable)
• Proven track record of architecting and engineering commercial applications and services.
• Ability to work independently while being a strong team player and creative thinker who is able to work with multi-cultural technical teams
• Your team and the teams that you will be interacting with are geographically dispersed across different time zones. Your ability and willingness to work in a remote environment in a geographically distributed team is essential to your and the team’s success.
• Proficiency in C++ including solid computer science fundamentals.
• Strong understanding of object-oriented programming and architectural design patterns.
• Deep understanding of data structures, algorithms, and complexities.
• Analytical problem solver with strong organizational and problem-solving skills
• Experience in Verilog and/or VHDL
• English language skills is a must (German is not required)

Qualifications considered as nice to have

• Experience in logic synthesis tools with foundations in logic synthesis
• Experience with TCL and/or JSON
• Experience with sequential verification (model checking or equivalence checking).
• Experience with parallel computing and/or cloud services
