Job description
UP42 was founded in 2019 with a clear purpose: to provide quick and easy access to geospatial data and analytics. The developer-first platform grants access to the world’s leading optical, radar, elevation, and aerial data providers, all in one place, and offers flexible APIs and a Python SDK to help build and scale solutions. Users can search the catalog for existing imagery or task a satellite to capture a desired area. Whatever the use case, UP42 is the one-stop shop for all geospatial data needs.
We are seeking a Pre-Sales Engineer (m/f/x) to join the UP42 team in Berlin to support the EMEA sales team. This role will offer the candidate the opportunity to interface with various types of customers across multiple business sectors and creatively address bleeding-edge technical use cases in the remote sensing industry. The Presales Engineer will be responsible for our Platform and API demos, handling technical inquiries, building a strong rapport with emerging customers, and supporting prospects with technical sales enablement.
What will you do:
Deliver presentations and product demonstrations that highlight the technical capabilities of the UP42 platform and support prospects/customers integration to our platform via API
Collaborate with Sales Managers to address technical queries, conduct feasibility studies, perform archive searches, and more
Be a trusted advisor to the technical and management staff of our customers, offering tailored technical solutions to meet their business requirements
Help provide technical support to tenders, RFI’s, RFP’s, and proposals when necessary
Work and build strong relationships with internal cross-functional teams including Customer Support, Product teams, and Business Development, often acting as the voice of the customer
Develop tailor made solutions to facilitate customer usage inside UP42 platform
Translate customer needs into requirements for the Product team and support the product roadmap
Here is a good summary of what we are looking for:
You are proficient in effectively communicating technical details and requirements to diverse audiences, ensuring accessibility for both technical and non-technical individuals
You have previous customer-facing experience in remote sensing or GIS, with hands-on involvement in managing satellite remote sensing data
You have proficiency in using GIS tools (i.e. ArcGIS, QGIS, etc)
Hands-on application or script development experience in Python is required, with Java and Javascript skills considered as plus
You have experience in integrating with cloud platforms through REST API’s
You have excellent written / verbal communication skills in English
Nice to have: Google Earth Engine, remote sensing tools such as ENVI, SNAP
