Modern Augmented Reality / Mixed Reality equipment allows for immersive and versatile interaction, bringing digital elements into the real world through spatial computing. This ability has been leveraged into exciting gaming experiences and astonishing tools for highly specialized tasks. However, this technology has little to offer to the average person in their daily life, at least if we try to find use cases for it in isolation. But what about combining it with the other (equally underwhelming) vision-gone-mainstream tech concept? And with this, we mean ubiquitous computing. The ability to display anything anywhere in physical space (of course from the perspective of the user) permits to put visual interactive elements in the physical proximity of the tiny computers embedded in our environment, suddendly making them directly accessible to the user. Ubiquitous interfaces are finally available for ubiquitous computing. It is high time for ubiquitous interaction.
Start: according to prior agreement
