Description
As an Optima Solutions Pilot Applications Manager you will be a part of new emerging fast pace market and part of a team of application, service and equipment operators at our Optima Solutions Application Campus at PPG Automotive OEM Coatings organization supporting one or more customer accounts and / or product layers to deploy, plan and implement the Optima strategy and all the standardized and systematic methodologies for the most cost effective and efficient management of the organization’s activities at the teams of those accounts.

Key Responsibilities:
• Serves as the Project Manager and coordinator for customer projects and activities in their area of responsibility.
• Responsible for the execution of paid for projects and prototypes, establishes and manages new project schedules, assured in time/in cost project completion.
• Manages a team of Operator Specialists and technicians to ensure all projects and activities are completed on time, in full, in specification and on budget, ensuring best practices are always applied.
• Works with Site Manager, EH&S, technical and product management to ensure all new products introduced are thoroughly vetted, validated and the process mapped from a facility, site impact EH&S, application perspective.
• Analyzes and presents data and pilot results to Internal and Customer organizations.
• Responsible for generating the PM & Daily/Weekly Reports on all Pilot & Prototype throughput by layer.
· Ensures all project contract conditions are completed and invoicing is done before completing a project.
• Works with Site Manager to ensure proper implementation of the Waste Management, 72-point Protocol, EH&S and other site protocols.
• Ensures systems and equipment uptime.
• Utilizes best practices like Design of Experiment (DOE) for application design validation and optimization.
· Accountable for the documentation of processes and leads related training for best practices.
Qualifications:
· Degree in science or business discipline and 10+ years in the coatings industry
· 5+ years in direct experience in management, training and development skills
· Six Sigma experience and the ability to set up design of experiments
· Demonstrate market, customer awareness and product technical knowledge are essential
· Detailed knowledge of customer coatings/specialty products, application, equipment, and processes
· The ability to lead a team and to manage projects
