Research assistant position (m/f/d) in the context of a third-party-funded project for radiation induced gene expression measurements in saliva and blood

The Bundeswehr Institute of Radiobiology in Munich is a departmental research institute of the German Federal Government. It conducts defense medical research and development in the field of medical management against radioactive substances as well as ionizing and non-ionizing radiation.

Aufgaben:
- For CBRN scenarios, an international consortium is developing a complete package that realizes the emergency care and transport of patients. In this context, the Institute of Radiobiology is looking for a research assistant to develop a diagnostic module based on gene expression analysis using saliva samples for acute radiation sickness.
- The position is third-party funded and available immediately.
Qualifikationsprofil:
- Successfully completed master’s degree or university diploma program in the field of (radiation) biology, bioengineering, -technology, -chemistry or something comparable. PhD desirable.
- Foreign language skills in English with a proficiency level of at least C1 of the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages or equivalent.
- Able to work both independently and in an international team.
- Familiar with molecular biological processes, gene expression measurements and data analysis (RNA isolation, qRT-PCR, next generation sequencing desirable).
- Experience with working on gene expression in blood and saliva.
- Knowledge or interest in the development of novel workflows (e.g. lab-on-a-chip systems).
- Agreement to participate in a health suitability assessment.
- Initiation of the mandatory security clearance level Ü2.
