The Hardware Engineering at Airbus Cabin Electronics in Buxtehude is looking for its new Head of Sustaining Engineering (d/f/m) . This job offers the unique opportunity to be a coach and a partner fostering empowerment in an engaged team, focusing on engineering activities for production and customer services.
The main missions of Sustaining Engineering are
Giving Engineering Support to Operations and Customer Services in the context of serial production, in-service activities and for test equipment
Continuous development and improvement of all electronic products
Component and obsolescence management
Implementation of redesigns including qualification and documentation
Minimum qualifications
Masters/Engineering Diploma in electrical engineering, telecommunications or a similar education with
Minimum 10 years of relevant experience in electronic design
Knowledge of current electronic technologies, architectures, standards and market trends
Good understanding of certification and airworthiness requirements
Good knowledge of electronic A/C systems
Strong team spirit and leadership skills
Good communication skills
Fluent in English and German
Responsibilities
As Head of Sustaining Engineering, you will manage a team of 10 experienced engineers with a high diversity of profiles and disciplines working in close cross functional cooperation with teams from Operations, Customer Services and Procurement in Buxtehude.
Your tasks and accountabilities are
Organizing and managing activities of Sustaining Engineering
Aligning priorities with internal customers and team workload
Coaching and supporting the team members in their day to day activities
Ensuring deliverables on time, cost and quality
Identify, manage and escalate risks and opportunities
Ensuring and promoting team engagement
Managing people development
As Head of Sustaining Engineering (d/f/m) , you will also be the leader of working groups or plateaus which comprise specialists from different functions working in a multi-disciplinary mode.
