As part of Roche Diagnostics CPS Point of Care (POC), our department is involved in a multitude of projects ranging from blood glucose measurements to the development of cardiac and coagulation assays.
The POC Analytics Subchapter is located in Mannheim supports various products from early R&D to launched products.
Your tasks:
Experiments involving biopolymers and vibrational spectroscopy (IR/Raman)
Screening of patents, literature, and clinical studies relevant to the project
Providing regular updates to cross-functional team of scientists and relevant stakeholders

To be successful in this role, you are (and have):
Highly motivated student, currently pursuing master’s degree in natural sciences/engineering sciences/data driven discipline
High interest and thorough technical knowledge of vibrational spectroscopy (Raman/IR)
Good knowledge of statistical analysis (multivariate statistics), machine learning
Knowledge of atleast1 programming language for data assessment (such as R/Python/MATLAB, Origin)
Skilled in writing (reports, documentation, SOPs)
You could be expected to support both project and functional teams depending on the needs of the department
Fluent in English (German language skill would be an added advantage)
Time: internship length is maximum 6 months.
