With more than 650 employees, the Lear Munich Headquarter is the Competence Centre for automotive seat development in Europe. In addition to the Sales and Engineering teams, the central functions, such as the Purchasing Division, divisions of JIT`s operations, the Finance, Legal and Human Resources are also located here.

For our location in European HQ Oberding/ Schwaig, Tychy, Poland or Vigo, Spain we are looking for a Commodity Purchasing Manager Europe for the Commodity Stampings

Goal of this position:

The Commodity Manager leads the entire purchasing process from initial sourcing across contract and Affordable Cost negotiations to the serial support activities. He/she is responsible for the achievement of the yearly objectives, in terms of target savings, supplier rating and supply base compression. He/she will be in charge to achieve year over year reduction in line with budget targets

Job tasks:

• Manage the European Purchasing staff for a certain commodity or group of commodities
• Ensure that team objectives are met with overall targets defined by Purchasing function and company
• Develop European commodity strategies and align with global ones.
• Map future spend and use it as leverage to deliver overall objectives
• Drive and implement savings, take ownership for the results
• Prepare and/or maintain reports for Senior Management
• Supervise and coach team to enhance their skills and support weak points
• Achieve purchasing savings according to agreed objectives; provide forecast estimations
• Control supplier performance in terms of commercials, delivery and quality and complete quarterly ranking
• Lead purchasing negotiation with selected suppliers in line with defined process and strategy
• Monitor adherence to commercial agreements, performance and capacity of suppliers
• Ensure that ERP system are updated correctly and on timely manner
• Maintain close communication with regional and global Purchasing Managers and Program Teams to meet sourcing calendars and costed bill of material targets
• Drive SCTO and VAVE ideas, supplier commercial audits

Demands on employee

• Engineering and/or commercial degree preferred
• Requires a minimum of 5 years experience in commercial negotiations and team management
• Excellent communication and negotiating competences
• Fluent in English and a second language advantageous
• MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
