Job description

The Fraunhofer Institute for Laser Technology ILT is Europe's leading center for contract research and development in the field of laser technology. The Laser Powder Bed Fusion department deals with the additive manufacturing of metallic components. The main focus of the advertised position is to assist in the operation of equipment and experimental work in the laboratory.

What you will do

• Preparation and execution of tests on the LPBF machine (material qualification, preparation and adaptation of geometry data, system operation, etc.)
• Evaluation and analysis of manufactured components
• Operation and preparation of LPBF laboratory systems
• Data preparation and documentation
• Assistance in everyday laboratory work

• Student of mechanical engineering, physics or materials science

Remuneration is based on the general works agreement on the employment of auxiliary staff.
The weekly working time is 12 hours.
The position is initially limited to 6 months, after which a longer term is also possible.
