A wide range of tasks
The job holder's task is to develop strategic network architectures for NetCom BW with which the company's goals can be realized in terms of products, costs, subscriber numbers and schedules.
- Developing and transferring functional, quantitative and qualitative requirements into a suitable network architecture at all network levels
- Deriving a medium-term network strategy, taking into account product, market and cost requirements
- Creating target/actual analyses and developing migration strategies, taking into account operational and structural dependencies
- Supporting the specialist departments in the selection of suitable suppliers and in the implementation of the network architecture
- Supporting the specialist departments in the pre-sales phase for complex offers
- Collaboration with technical planning and operations teams, product management and sales as well as controlling; communicating the status of projects to internal and external stakeholders
Convincing profile
- Completed university degree in computer science, communications engineering or comparable or a comparable qualification based on many years of relevant professional experience
- High level of competence in a cross-functional way of working, as well as a high degree of technical abstraction and holistic thinking
- In-depth knowledge of optical and photonic transport networks, such as CWDM, DWDM, OTN, SDH/PDH, as well as corresponding technologies, such as ROADM, optical multiplexing, MPLS-TP, alien wavelengths
- Relevant experience with corresponding manufacturers and their management systems (NMS), such as ADVA/Adtran, Nokia, Ciena and possibly Ribbon/ECI
- Comprehensive understanding of market requirements and trends, as well as an affinity for new topics such as OpenZR+/ZR+, Open-Roadm SD-WAN
- Confident and strong communication skills, as well as a responsible manner in committees, with customers and in public
- Good language skills in German and English
