Job description
As a new partner to cruise operators, MEYER RE aims to maintain ships throughout their service life, modernize them with sustainable solutions, and ensure optimized ship operation by offering the broad knowledge of the MEYER Group.
Currently MEYER RE is looking for two Site Manager (m/f/d) on a permanent contract base.
Focus of the tasks:
- Oversee project execution teams and contractors’ work onboard the vessel for designated area during drydock; assess progress, track and monitor work plans and project milestones completion
- Utilize project management tools and techniques to maintain project scope and manage stakeholders’ expectations
- Communicate project plan status for designated areas on a regular basis to stakeholders
- Work with Logistics to review contractors’ work plans and ensure material and equipment for project areas are delivered ahead of schedule
- Work with Project Manager to identify, analyze and respond to project risks on a timely manner
- Work with vendors to complete contractors work plans, work breakdown structures and scope of work, project milestones and schedule
- Ensure all planned activities are executed as on time, on budget and per scope for designated areas
- Create and build trusted relationships with multi-cultural and cross-functional project team members: architects, procurement, logistics, shipyard, operations and third-party vendors
- Share information, knowledge and expertise to achieve the projects goal
- Actively support the development of capabilities and skills of team members
- Ensure that outfit material and equipment ordered for installation is appropriate, cost effective and meets industry and company standards
- Oversee contractors’ execution of planned activities per defined scope, budget, timeline and quality standards
- Ensure technical and final inspections are scheduled
What we expect:
- Bachelor degree in marine engineering or naval architect highly desired
- Experience in shipbuilding or ship revitalization
- at least five years of experience in managing and delivering technical projects
- Experience in managing end-to-end project delivery and in project risk management
- People management experience
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Familiarity with design and construction execution processes
- Ability to understand and interpret architectural drawings and floor plans
- Familiarity with sourcing, procurement and logistics procedures of a large organization
- Knowledge of Windows, Microsoft Suite, MS Project or related project management software and AutoCAD
- Continuous improvement mindset
- Strong willingness to travel
- Willingness to move to Papenburg/the surrounding area
- Knowledge of German desirable or willingness to learn the German language
