The Opportunity
As a Scientist joining the Bioprocess development team within Plasma Product Development, you will be responsible for planning, conducting and evaluating process development studies for plasma derived therapeutics
The Role
- Your main responsibility in this role will be the development of experimental study designs as well as the planning and execution of experiments including data evaluation and presentation in team and department meetings
- Another focus will be the coordination of activities with other departments, e.g., bioanalytical team, global digital core, QC, Operations in a proactive and independent manner to ensure timely completion of project work packages
- This role will mainly focus on working with protein purification workflows using chromatography (batch mode and continuous chromatography), TFF, filtration, precipitation etc.
- As a technical expert of processes and devices, you will gather information from external suppliers and collaboration partners
- You will be responsible for the creation and maintenance of experimental records as well as support technical documents (including standard operating procedures, study protocols and reports) within internal documentation systems (e.g. ELN, Veeva)
- The Maintenance of laboratory equipment according to specific quality standards (e.g., GSP, GLP) as well as the creation of user requirements and the maintenance qualification and calibration of laboratory equipment will be part of your routine
Your Skills and Experience:
- A University Degree in a relevant field of science (e.g. Bachelor of Science in biology / biochemistry / protein chemistry)
- Demonstrated laboratory experience in protein purification workflows (especially TFF, filtration and continuous chromatography) and in-depth knowledge of scale-up of these technologies to commercial facility are pre-requisites for this role
- Preferably you will have experience in working with Electronic Laboratory Notebook and softwares like SAS Jmp (DoE design and evaluation), MFCS
- Excellent communication and written skills both in English and German
- 4-5 years of relevant post graduate experience
