Your future plans We are looking for a Major Decision Lead to join our Asset Management Team, responsible for recommending strategic decisions regarding the future profitability of the RWE Generation Gas division. If you have proven experience of balancing technical and commercial risks with a view to optimising value, and working alongside OEMs, we'd love to have you in #TeamRWE!
- Be aware of and actively contribute to and promote RWEs business strategy
- Use specialist knowledge to identify areas where the Long Term Optimisation team can positively influence (or mitigate risk to) the Gas portfolio
- Engage pro-actively with internal and external stakeholders in order to understand their requirements and be able to challenge and influence those that do not align with business strategy
- Good knowledge of Power Plant operations and Energy Trading market to enable credible and challenging discussions with both internal and external stakeholders
- Management of all aspects of projects/programmes including; setting scope, organising steering committees, assigning roles & responsibilities, timescales, deliverables, stakeholder management, change control and managing virtual project teams
Your powerful skills
- Significant relevant business management and leadership experience preferably gained in asset strategy within a large process environment or similar, experience of managing large projects and commercial decisions
- Strong problem-solving skills with an ability to understand complex issues and the associated safety risks
- Good interpersonal skills, strong influencing, negotiation and proven stakeholder management skills. Ability to build cross-functional teams outside of line management, and ability to influence board level stakeholders and international colleagues
- Demonstrates the ability to deal with constantly changing priorities. Attention to detail is essential; methodical, innovative, numerate, analytical and well organised
- Demonstrable knowledge and experience of Health, Safety and Environmental practices
- Values and behaviours - developing the business culture through positive engagement and encouragement with all staff within their teams and wider portfolio
