Job description
As a Senior Data Analytics Consultant/ Product Manager for Customer Data in the central Data Analytics department you will co-drive the transformation of customer data for Zalando together with the respective engineering leadership. You will lead and drive the creation of substantial customer data products that are consumed inside and outside the company. You will manage implementation teams assigned to your projects and oversee the product phases end to end. You consult stakeholders in our solution stack, best practices and suggest state of the art analytical & engineering solutions where applicable. Additionally, as a team member to the Data Analytics Product Management, you get to be involved in the Zalando Data Strategy, an initiative that is fundamentally changing how we work with data.

Product Management and Agile Methodologies: Utilize hands-on product management skills and a product-centric mindset to employ Agile methodologies effectively. This includes conducting sprint planning and reviews, backlog management, and prioritization to enhance overall product development and user experience.
Enhancing User Productivity and Experience : Focus on identifying blockers and exploring new opportunities to improve user productivity. Employ a customer-focused approach to drive enhancements in user experience.
Strategic Product Development : Drive product development with a clear vision and roadmap, ensuring alignment with Zalando's Strategy and Data Strategy. Utilize business acumen and efficient execution strategies for better product offerings.
Decision-Making and Problem-Solving : Create detailed narrative documents to facilitate decision-making, clearly communicating rationales and strategies. Analyze problems, propose solutions with their pros and cons, and evaluate outcomes.
Coaching and Mentoring : Act as a coach and mentor to colleagues, promoting a customer-first, problem-solving approach. Encourage a culture of starting with the customer and working backwards.
Customer Needs and Data Product Development: Understand and interpret customer needs and requirements for data products. Ensure that the development aligns with the overall vision, roadmap, and targets customer needs effectively.
Collaboration and Stakeholder Engagement: Collaborate closely with data scientists, engineers, and other stakeholders to meet target customer needs. Lead the adoption process of the data product.
Metrics and Analytics for Product Improvement : Utilize metrics and analytics to measure the success of the data product. Implement improvements based on these insights and actively seek user feedback for continuous product enhancement.
Sprint Planning and Implementation: Steer bi-weekly sprint planning based on priorities with the implementation team and main end-users, ensuring agile and efficient progress towards goals.
3+ years of relevant work experience as Product Manager or Tech Consultant, leading development of several products, collaborating with a team of data and software engineers and cross-functional partners to build products
Bridge between customers and engineering teams, skilled in translating business requirements into technical requirements, experience with software products and architectures in the Data area
Natural problem-solver, pragmatic approach, with a strong history of leading product discovery, solving meaningful customer and business problems, and delivering scalable solutions.
Ability to create a strong product vision and translate that vision for any audience, through well-crafted strategic documents, thorough requirements, and clear communication with stakeholders
Strong analytical mind, with the expertise to evaluate data, draw insights to make informed product decisions by defining success criteria and measuring impact of the product
