The MPCDF operates large supercomputers comprised of more than 10,000 nodes and storage systems hosting several hundred petabytes of data, both online on disks and offline on tape media.
A stable, scalable, and high performance network infrastructure enabling scientists all around the globe to access aforementioned systems is key to MPCDF’s success.
