PhD position
Part-time (75 %), Remuneration according
to salary group 13 TV-H
Ref. No. A24-010The position is in accordance with German regulations (Wissenschaftszeitvertragsgesetz) for a period of 3 years with the option for one year extension.
It is intended to enable the successful candidate to obtain a doctorate degree in a cooperative doctorate procedure between the THM University of Applied Sciences and TU Chemnitz. The PhD candidate will be supervised by Prof. Dr. Thomas Bauschert (TU Chemnitz).
The project is in the research field of IT Security and Digitalization aims at detection and mitigation of zero-day attacks to an Industrial Internet of Things (IIoT) infrastructure. The target of this research work is to design, implement, test and validate innovative zero-day attack detection and mitigation algorithms which are based on Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Machine Learning (ML) techniques.
Your Tasks:
- Research activities in the field of cyber security and digitization
- PhD project on detecting and defending against zero-day attacks using AI / ML techniques
- Participation in teaching on cyber security and related topics
- Writing and presenting scientific lectures
- Undertake general responsibilities of the CYSECDIGITAL research group including writing, reviewing research proposals, articles and creating, maintaining industry contacts
Our requirements: - Completed scientific university degree (accredited master's degree or university diploma) in computer science or related areas such as IT security, cyber security and information technology
- Very good theoretical knowledge and practical expertise in Cyber Security
- Very good programming skills in one of these languages: Python, JavaScript, R, Java, C++, C
- Good English language skills are necessary (language level C1)
- Good knowledge of German (language level B1)
