Job Description

Multi Robot Planning (MRP) is a fundamental problem in the field of artificial intelligence and robotics, with applications in autonomous vehicles, automated warehouse systems, factories, video games and logistics. The challenge in MRP lies in allocating tasks to robots (Multi-Agent Task Allocation – MATA) and finding collision-free paths for multiple agents in a shared environment (Multi-Agent Pathfinding – MAPF).

• A first objective of this working student position is to design and implement a visualization for a multi robot benchmark simulation that is based on real data from a Bosch factory.
• Furthermore, algorithms for the following areas are to be developed: MAPF, MATA and simulation.
• You will also review literature on multi-robot planning if necessary and familiarize yourself with existing simulation environments.
• Last but not least you will design and implement a visualization for simulation as well as develop further algorithms for multi-robot planning.

Qualifications

• Education: studies in the field of Computer Science, Robotics, Artificial Intelligence, Engineering, or comparable
• Experience and Knowledge: solid knowledge in programming with Python and ideally C++
• Personality and Working Practice: highly motivated and flexible team player
• Languages: English or German

Additional Information

Start: according to prior agreement
Duration: 6 months – 10 h / 15 h week (extension possible)
