Scientist* Early-Stage Formulation Process Development
As the Scientist* Early-Stage Formulation Process Development you will be responsible for the process development of new formulations for various lipid based formulations projects.
Your main responsibilities are:
- Design and development of manufacturing processes for lipid nanoparticles towards mRNA delivery
- Generate fundamental understanding on the manufacturing process of mRNA loaded lipid nanoparticles
- Characterization and assessment of colloidal and chemical stability assessment of nanoformulations as a function of ageing
- Data processing, evaluation, documentation of experiments, and writing of reports
- Responsibility for instruments, laboratory management, and supervision of Student Assistants and Research Associate
- Initiatives to improve the working efficiency within the team for example attending trainings and workshops for acquiring knowledge on the new technologies, automation of experimentations, data analysis, establishment of the orthogonal assays for rationalized development
What you have to offer:
- Doctoral degree in pharmaceutical or other natural sciences (e.g., chemistry, biology, etc.)
- Sound knowledge on the approaches to identify the critical quality attributes and critical process parameters for manufacturing of mRNA loaded lipid nanoparticles, industrial experience is a plus
- Profound knowledge on chemical and biophysical characterization of lipid and polymer-based nanoparticle preparations ( e.g. , gel electrophoresis, SEC, DLS, zeta potential, fluorescence spectroscopy)
- Insights on extended characterization techniques such as CD, SAXS, AF4, Cryo-TEM is a plus
- Sound knowledge on the addition of functional excipients and other components to pharmaceuticals for enhancing the stability
- Mechanistic understanding on the chemical and material properties and its implications on the subsequent processing will be beneficial
- Experience with statistical analysis and data reporting software. (e.g., R-package, GraphPad, etc.)
- An independent, responsible, and structured way of working as well as enthusiasm to participate in collaborative work projects
- Fluent in English, verbal and written form
