WHITE MOUNTAINS COMMUNITY COLLEGE
PRESIDENT

SALARY RANGE: $157,000-$176,500

General Summary: Under the overall direction of the Chancellor and the Board of Trustees, serves as the chief academic and administrative officer of the college, serves as the chief executive officer of the college and oversees programs and operations of the college and management of financial resources. Responsible for vision setting, establishing and achieving strategic goals, developing partnerships with business, communities and government, managing fiscal and budgetary matters, fund development and working effectively with faculty, staff, students and alumni. Serves as a member of the Community College System of New Hampshire (CCSNH) leadership team.

The President serves as an ex officio member of the CCSNH Board of Trustees. Each Trustee is required to be a resident of New Hampshire, and establishing primary residence in New Hampshire is a condition of employment.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities:

Qualifications:

Education: A master’s degree (although a doctorate is preferred).

Experience: Demonstrated record of increasingly responsible administrative experience and demonstrated achievement through leadership in an accredited college, college district, or comparable business or institution is required. Additional requirements include experience that demonstrates strong management, marketing, human resources, communication, and finance skills as well as knowledge and understanding of the community college educational mission.

License/Certifications: Valid Driver’s License or access to statewide transportation.

An individual who is skilled in outreach and cultivating relationships that support the advancement of the college. An individual who is comfortable and effective as the spokesperson for the college, who can articulate a vision, educate and energize an audience, and be persuasive. A politically astute individual with a history of successful advocacy. An individual who understands the needs of the business community, and who has the ability to engage the participation of external stakeholders and develop strategic partnerships with a broad range of organizations. An individual who understands the impact of changing technologies on higher education. An understanding of and commitment to supporting diversity. Ability to be a persuasive negotiator, facilitator, and collaborator. Experience with collective bargaining. A history of direct work with elected and appointed public officials in a wide variety of public bodies, including some experience with the executives and the legislature at the city or state level. A history of advocacy on behalf of public education. An advocate for students and a demonstrated ability to relate to and interact with students. Experience working in a college that is part of a multi-campus system is ideal. Experience working with transfer issues is desirable.
