Job description
DECK13 Interactive are looking for a Technical Director to assume the mantle of technical leadership for the studio, handling team building, vision development, and overseeing the studio’s transition to Unreal Engine.
As a Technical Director you will play a pivotal role in helping communication between internal and external stakeholders, collaborating with various creative teams, and resolving technical challenges to ensure the successful delivery of projects.

Your responsibilities…- Recruit, mentor, and manage a skilled technical team, promoting collaboration and innovation, fostering a cohesive and high-performing team culture
- Develop and communicate a clear vision for the tech team, particularly during the transition to Unreal Engine
- Support change management efforts to ensure a smooth transition and adoption of new technologies
- Participate in cross-group workstreams to help communication between internal and external stakeholders
- Collaborate closely with all other departments to ensure seamless integration of technical elements into the overall game development
- Identify and resolve technical challenges to support the tech department in achieving project goals, by offering technical guidance and support as needed
- Define the technical strategy and roadmap together with the HQ
The skills and experience you’ll bring to the role…- 5 or more years’ experience as Technical Director or similar role
- Deep knowledge of Unreal Engine 4 or 5, with several shipped multi-platform titles to your name
- Experience in both engineering and technical leadership roles, encompassing technical and creative aspects of game production
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to communicate effectively and inspire teams
- A solid background in the production of AA/AAA games, including experience with shipping console/PC games
- Advanced and proven professional C++ programming skills, with a deep understanding of software design practices
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, and comfortable being client-facing
- Strong time management and organizational skills, and a collaborative team player
