Job Description

Do you want to challenge existing solutions? Do you want to investigate the latest scientific methods, use powerful software tools and implement new methods as software? Working with a team of engineers and scientists, you will investigate the application of new assessment approaches to cyclic multi-axial fatigue.

• During your Master thesis, you will use finite element software such as Ansys or Abaqus.
• You will use commercial fatigue software tools such as nCode and FEMFAT.
• Furthermore, you will test commercial and open source implementations.
• In addition, you will use a Python-based framework (pyLife) and implement new features.
• Last but not least, you will share your ideas and contributions with enthusiasm and benefit from the exchange with your colleagues.

Qualifications

• Education: Master studies in the field of Engineering, Mathematics, Physics, Computer Science or comparable with good grades
• Experience and Knowledge: very good knowledge of mechanics and dynamics; basic knowledge of Python, Finite Element Method (FEM); fatigue and strength of materials
• Personality and Working Practice: innovative, self-motivated, independent and communicative
• Languages: goodinEnglish, German is an advantage
