This is a unique opening within our corporate research department for a dedicated master’s student. Get to know industrial grade R&D. At Bosch we invent for life. Help us enable the next big leap.
- During your assignment, you will learn from a diverse team of researchers and industrial PhD candidates for Augmented Reality (AR/XR) display hardware.
- You will study recent academic literature to build state-of-the-art optical modelling and design tools for novel holographic AR/XR concepts.
- Your key task will be the optimization of a sophisticated optical element for AR/XR displays.
- This may include inverse design, geometrical and wave optical modelling and optical design. Your exact topic will be defined in collaboration with your academic supervisor.
- Finally, you will work on the interface of academic and corporate research, present your results in a thesis and ideally joint scientific publication.
Qualifications
- Education: Masterstudies in the field of Photonics, Optics, Physics, Electrical Engineering or comparable
- Experience and Knowledge: in scientific programming (Python or similar), familiar with technical optics OR computational imaging OR physical modelling OR holography, prior experience in geometrical and wave optical modelling OR optimization and inverse problems OR optical design is a plus
- Personality and Working Practice: reliable and communicative team player

Duration: 6-12 months
