CureVac SE is a global biopharmaceutical company researching and developing novel drugs based on the natural molecule Messenger RNA (mRNA). Our focus is on prophylactic vaccines, innovative cancer immunotherapies and protein-based therapies. Senior Scientist (f/m/d) RNA Delivery & Formulation
Your Responsibilities:
- Plan and support projects to develop RNA delivery technology based on a target product profile (TPP)
- Development and characterization of novel lipid-based mRNA formulations
- Drafting of scientific issues and matters relating to patent law in preclinical, cellular and in-vivo experimental systems
- Reporting and presentation of results to corresponding target groups
- Supervision and guidance in daily business for junior scientists and technicians
- Transfer knowledge to other departments within the organization and external parties
- Keep knowledge up-to-date by research and by attending subject-related events
Your Qualifications:
- Doctorate in natural sciences such as biochemistry, organic chemistry or pharmaceutics or equivalent
- Several years of experience in the pharmaceutical or biotechnology environment in RNA formulation and delivery role
- Excellent theoretical and practical knowledge of lipid-based and polymer-based a delivery systems
- Deep knowledge of conducting (in-vitro, in-vivo) assays and data interpretation
- Experience in nanoparticle characterization techniques (DLS, zeta potential, chromatography) and knowledge of structural biology and protein and nucleic acid characterization tools/techniques (gel electrophoresis, etc.)
- High level of self-motivation with the ability to work independently and in a structured manner
- Ability to think out-of-the box and troubleshoot in order to manage challenging timelines in a dynamic environment
- Team player with excellent communication skills
- Fluency in English, German skills are a plus
