Job description
Flowserve is an American multinational corporation and one of the largest suppliers of industrial and environmental machinery, from pumps and seals to valves, actuation and instrumentation, to energy recovery devices and hydraulic decoking systems, and more, our products help plants overcome the toughest flow control challenges. This position is jointly responsible for carrying out and ensuring all financial statement preparation and production controlling activities with regard to order billing, valuation and financial reporting. The position reports to the Manager Accounting at the Itzehoe location.
Responsibilities:
- Participation in the monthly and annual financial statements according to US GAAP and HGB;
- Continuous review and analysis of the progress of production and sales orders based on cost and hourly accounting;
- Booking of production and sales progress for large orders (percentage-of-completion bookings);
- Analysis, comparison and reporting of material consumption and production hours against plan/forecast;
- Monthly determination of production costs and valuation of inventory assets;
- Determination and review of sales or production-related valuation adjustments (penalties, warranty costs, inventory write-offs);
- Determination and accounting of surpluses and shortages in the production process;
- Supporting management and finance business partners with meaningful deviation analyses;
- Participate in process improvements regarding all aspects of production cost accounting and related reporting;
- Carrying out the SOX controls assigned to the area of responsibility;
- Supporting General Accounting with location-related issues relating to the preparation of commercial and tax financial statements.
Requirements:
Business degree (Bachelor) with a focus on finance and accounting or comparable training; At least 5 years of professional experience in the area of cost accounting/controlling, preferably in a manufacturing company; Good knowledge of manufacturing processes and material flows as well as associated order accounting systems and processes; Sound HGB and IFRS/US-GAAP knowledge, Experience in conducting SOX controls; Advanced Excel skills; Experience in dealing with ERP programs, preferably SAP R/3; Very good knowledge of spoken and written English; Analytical mindset, high affinity for numbers and willingness to work in detail; Ability to prioritize different tasks, even under changing conditions; Independent working style and ability to solve complex accounting issues; Willingness to work in a cross-location team; Confident verbal and written communication skills.
