Lithium-ion batteries are the benchmark for the development of new battery technologies. They feature high energy and power densities, enabling the electrification of road traffic. Further improvements are needed to open up new areas of application, for example in the aerospace industry. A holistic optimization of the cell, considering all components and their interactions, is therefore essential. The SiMET graduate program develops mechanical, electrochemical and thermal models of batteries.
Your work will contribute to a better understanding of the relevant transport processes at the pore scale with detailed models of the carbon binder domain. In particular, you will investigate new binder concepts that will further improve the performance, energy density and sustainability of future cells. As a member of a leading international research team in the field of microstructure-resolved simulation of batteries, you will make an important contribution to the understanding and optimization of this key technology together with our partners from industry and academia.
Look forward to a fulfilling job with an employer who appreciates your commitment and supports your personal and professional development. Our unique infrastructure offers you a working environment in which you have unparalleled scope to develop your creative ideas and accomplish your professional objectives. Our human resources policy places great value on a healthy family and work-life-balance as well as equal opportunities for persons of all genders (f/m/x). Individuals with disabilities will be given preferential consideration in the event their qualifications are equivalent to those of other candidates.
