About you and this role
We are looking for you, an ambitious bachelor’s or master’s student, to support our Environmental Operations team by doing an internship project in the industrial Waste Water Treatment plant in our location in Stade, Germany.
Dow is offering great career opportunities in a global and international environment. The department that will welcome you is responsible for the supply of fresh water, incineration of solid, liquid and gaseous wastes and biological treatment of the waste water generated by numerous chemical production facilities.
Project description
In our industrial waste water treatment plant there are 4 reactors that each treat slightly different types of waste water in an biological process. For the settlement of biomass the flocculation agent ironchlorosulfide or ironchloride is added. To reduce the use of agent as much as possible you detect and verify the optimal dosing range by laboratory trials for each reactor. For a master's level you can include more factors like biological sludge parameters into your observations. The results should be translated into operational (visual) aids for daily operating decisions. The implementation of new analyzing procedures can be an outcome.
Depending on the project's scope, this internship presents a potential opportunity for a thesis.
A bachelors thesis, performed in 2013 is used as a starting point for your work.
